No one, not even creators Colin and George, could have known where Original Golden would lead Sellotape. But from the day it first rolled out of the Acton factory, we’ve never looked back.
With its invention, a stellar trajectory was set. Drafted to do our bit for King and country, we sealed first aid kits in WW2. We were small screen stars in the 60s – an essential part of every afternoon TV crafter’s Tracy Island. Sellotape even made its mark on the dictionary in 1980.
This has taken us into many drawers, office cupboards, craft boxes, school bags, even to the moon and back (that’s if you unrolled every roll we’ve ever sold). And to think, it all began with one roll. All hail Original Golden.
